How To Upload Picture To Roll20

I'm having trouble uploading images. I'yard using Chrome and trying to upload a 5438 KB .jpg file and it doesn't seem to work. The moment I drag the paradigm into the box to upload, information technology starts at 25% or so complete, and the bar never progresses beyond that indicate. I've tried to upload a small token file, and that seemed to work fine, but I tin't upload my map. Is there an upload file size limit that is not mentioned anywhere?

I've tried uploading with Firefox and reducing the map resolution and file size past half, and the same thing happens... the progress bar instantly starts at 25% or and then, and never moves beyond that. I've waited about 5 minutes to see if information technology would eventually cease, did a refresh, and image still is not in my library.

Nevermind... it seems information technology finally finished after about 10 minutes of waiting. The progress bar doesn't seem to do anything though... maybe a problems? It'south either at 25% or it disappears completely when the epitome is washed.

Nick, there is a five MB limit to uploads. Your image is right at the threshold where uploading will get wonky.

Does that mean I cannot upload maps that are larger than 5 MB? I accept maps that are around 10 MB and I want to exist able to use them without changing the size or resolution. I have been playing effectually with Roll20 for the past few days and I am quite impressed. It's the kind to VTT that I take been looking for! I am even because becoming a supporter. But the upload cap bothers me. Could it not exist removed for supporters at least? Otherwise, Roll20 is of no use to me ... unfortunately ...

Karl, I would suggest cutting the map into peices and uploading them that way. Then yous can just fit them together and merge them in Roll20. - Gauss

Karl, I would advise cut the map into peices and uploading them that mode. Then you can but fit them together and merge them in Roll20. - Gauss Hm ... Yep, I estimate that is a workaround. Just I'd rather be able to upload the whole map in one go ... Are there plans to increase the cap at some phase?

That would be a question for the Developers. :) - Gauss

CidCalypso, accept a look at the resolution of your images. You should be able to drop the resolution to compress the file size. Image resolution does not affect how an epitome displays on a digital screen. The display is dictated by the prototype's dimensions. An image file that is 300 pixels past 300 pixels in size with a 300 dpi/ppi resolution will display exactly the same on your computer screen equally a 300 by 300 pixel image at 72 dpi/ppi resolution. The larger the resolution, the weightier your paradigm file size will be.

Cheers for your help, Gauss and Kristin. I played with Riot (Radical Image Optimization Tool) to resize one of my larger maps and that worked quite well. Looking good ... ;-)

I'm glad we could assist. :)
